The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter "the Office") is ready to comply with the provisions on personal data protection set out in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of individuals with regard to personal data processing and on free movement of such data. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection and on Amendments to Certain Acts (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”).

The Office, as the controller, has designated a responsible person who performs the tasks specified in Section 46 of the Act and who may be contacted by the person concerned with questions concerning the processing of his personal data and the exercise of his rights under the Act.

Purpose of personal data processing

The Office processes personal data for the purposes of:

performance of state statistics (the legal basis is Act No. 540/2001 Coll., on state statistics, as amended, Council Regulation (EU, Euratom ) No. 608/2014 of 26 May 2014 laying down implementing measures concerning the system of the European Union's own resources, Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union, ...),
fulfillment of other legal obligations (the legal basis is, for example, Act No. 211/2000 Coll., on Free Access to Information, Act No. 395/2002 Coll., on Archives and Registries and other special acts),
implementation of contractual relations with customers and data users, e.g. in providing statistical information and data, etc.

Transfer of personal data

The personal data obtained are not transferred by the Office to third countries, but may be passed on to recipients (competent state authorities and persons) who have the right to request this information on the basis of special regulations.

Retention period of personal data

Personal data will be processed by the Office for the period during which the Office is obliged or authorized according to special regulations to process such data, or for the time strictly necessary to ensure mutual rights and obligations arising from the contractual obligation. After that time, the Office shall ensure the deletion of the personal data processed.

Rights of the persons concerned

The persons concerned have the right to request from the Office access to personal data concerning them and have the right to file a motion to initiate proceedings pursuant to Section 100 of the Act.

In order to improve the content provided on the website of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, it uses the Google Analytics service , which processes " cookies " and provides summary data on the average length of web visit and visited pages, types of devices, type of web browser from which users access the site. , country of access, etc. The processing of this data is subject to the privacy policies applied by Google at: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en_US.

To ensure the protection of processed personal data, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic has adopted technical and organizational security measures, which it has documented in the Security Project of Information Systems Containing Personal Data.
